Springtime blooms

After the winter thaw, it’s such a delicious relief to see the blooms of spring, wouldn’t you say?

After my mother died, we planted one of her favorite trees—a  Weeping Japanese Cherry—in our backyard. Each year without fail, it blooms exactly in time for Passover. Happy spring, everybody!

I too have a weeping cherry tree that is in remebrance of my father. My friends gave it to me at his memorial service. When we sold out old home we dug it up and it came along with us to Sayville. It sat in a burlap tarp over the winter and we planted it in the speing after the ground thawed. I was afraid it wouldn't survive the move. Thankfully it has bloomed every year since. I love the thought of my Dad giving me a little wink every year at Easter to let me know "life goes on"..Much love to you Jill as we enjoy the loving embrace of our parents who left us too soon..xxxoo

Wow, gang! Such beautiful comments you've all written. Liz - how amazing that we both have the very same remembrance for our parents. It puts such a smile on my face to think our trees are each blooming at such poignant times.

Love you guys!

What a wonderful way to remember your mom, to feel her beauty on a daily basis from Passover on into the coming months. Happy and blessed spring to you, sweet Jill.
