for some strange and bizarre reason my kids fight as to who lines up first at the door in the mornings? maybe i should encourage them to see who catch the most ants instead?
Oh, Jill, I remember sitting on the sidewalk and eating ants--I was only three at the time--had to get my protein! They tasted a little salty, and gritty, like sand.
Luckily, Avital only lets them crawl up and down her arm. To my knowledge, she hasn't yet tasted one (*really hoping). I'm glad your ant endeavors didn't leave any lasting effects, Dawn!
And Kerrin, you teach your kids to catch ants (no tasting!) and I'll teach mine to line up at the front door, deal?
you will not be putting any ants in the lunchboxes with the love notes, will you? just wondering. Although, ...sounds like Dawn may enjoy them - you can send them there!
Avital is such a cutie. Yotan does the same thing, only he mushes them.... And he does it INSTEAD of getting ready; not after he's already ready. These are, perhaps, indicative of at least some of the differences betwen the sexes.
I am a potter, writer, and distracted academic. I’ve always felt a profound pull toward clay, starting from a very young age. The texture, the smell, the provocative mess, its earthy unpretentiousness…I love every moment, every single stage of the pottery journey up to and including the blissful experience of sitting back to take in the intricacies and majesty of the final finished product. I dream and breathe pottery.
